Hard Wired IR

No Target IR LED light when IR signal is pointed at it

  • Check fresh batteries in Remote Control
  • Check Junction Box and Target LED
    • If no power LED Junction Box (or Target Junction Box if cascading), check power supply and cable run
    • If power LED is on, check emitter lead connection / cable and position on product. Dependant upon sensitivity of the IR receiver on the AV equipment, optimal placement of the emitter heads may require a process of trial and error

IR LED on Target is on all the time:

  • Check IR target is new “plasma friendly” target
    • If not, swap to a new plasma friendly target
  • At each connected target or at Splitter, disconnect outputs to TV’s until IR LED at Modulator goes off. This identifies which IR Target is source of noise or fault. Noise may be electrical or optical.
  • Next, cover the front of the offending IR Target.
    • If the IR Data light turns off, the IR Target is ‘seeing’ a source of IR noise, such as a solid state fluorescent lamp.
    • If the light does not go out, the problem may be radiated electrical noise from the TV. Reposition this IR Target. If repositioning the IR Target does not help, the TV may be conducting noise from its input. Place a DC block between the IR Target and the TV.

AV Device not responding to remote target IR signals:

  • Check target LED light is on when IR signal is pointed at it
  • Check Junction Box IR LED light is on when IR signal is transmitting
  • Check emitter head placement NOTE: Do not place emitter head directly over IR sensor
  • Dependant upon sensitivity of the IR receiver on the AV equipment, optimal placement of the emitter heads may require a process of trial and error
